Ever since it’s opening day right up until now, words about Three Buns have been buzzing in the air. Well, how can it not? Situated in Senopati, the always crowded Three Buns is open, airy, and surrounded by greeneries (reminding customers that they’re amidst a greenhouse instead of the constant hustle and bustle of Jakarta’s street). The place is partially al fresco while keeping cool throughout the day with air conditioning. As soon as you walk in, the main focus went straight to a vintage customized Camper Van that serves as the order station for customers – not bad for inventive and unique design ideas.

We have Chef Adam Penney from London to thank for Three Buns’ menu and secret recipes. Those of you who aren’t familiar with the name, he was previously behind the success of London’s ‘Patty & Bun’ the burger joint with “a reputation for London’s finest burgers” – if that doesn’t convince you how flavorful his burgers are, we don’t know what will.

With a menu that caters to gourmet burgers and cocktails, it’s no wonder that the place is always beyond crowded. Their burgers are made from 100% natural and fine quality meat, bespoke artisan buns, as well as homemade slow cooked sauces. Meat lovers can try the Rambo (our favorite cause we are carnivorous that way) a superior 150g lamb patty with green chilli, eggplant pickle, and cumin aioli, or the more classic Baby Huey their prime beef patty with cheese, lettuce, ketchup, pickles and spiced mayo.

For the health conscious, you can choose their healthy The Roots that consists of seasonal vegetables, cheese fritter, coleslaw, lettuce, pickles, hot sauce and mayo, or Honky-Tonk made from soya milk fried chicken, coleslaw, lettuce, hot sauce, and den miso mayo. For the sides you can order Naughty Fries with spiced béarnaise, beef chilli, crisp shallots, parmesan and sesame seeds, also Wing-Its a crispy, fall-off-the-bone twice cooked chicken wings that comes with hot sauce, scallions, and smoky BBQ sauce.

Of course all of this goodness needs to be washed down with some refreshing (alcoholic) beverages, and they sure got a lot to choose from whether it’s the big kids’ slushie, bottle craft cocktails that is made daily with fresh juice, or jerk cocktails. World renowned mixologist Dre Masso created the drink list for Three Buns, so expect something innovative with quality. Not a fan of the booze? Worry not, cause their drinks are available too as mocktails, and they have a selection of house-made sodas made with natural ingredients and no preservatives.
