Most of the kids who are my age, well, not kids per se, we are 80’s kids who grew up –or not LOL– in the 90’s and early 2000’s, we remember Fallen Footwear. Back then Jamie Thomas was THE man. He was in, like, EVERY Tony Hawk Pro Skater game there was. Well not really, but it sure seemed like it.
He made Zero a bigwig name in skateboarding and everyone was talking about his Leap Of Faith. After the years, he stepped back from the limelight but stayed in the loop just enough just to make his presence known by starting Black Box Distribution and growing Mystery, Threat, Insight, and, of course, Fallen after leaving Circa.
Sadly though, Fallen footwear has called it quits afters 13 years of awesomeness. Maybe it’s just us here at SUB, but it is always heart wrenching when you see a skater born-run-owned production line gets run aground but then again, skateboarding is always about progress, so we sincerely hope that something good can come out of this.
Jamie Thomas wrote this message : It is with a thankful & humble heart that I announce that Spring 2016 will be Fallen Footwear’s last season. I would like to thank the past and present Fallen team, employees, distributors, and retailers. I’d also like to thank everyone that has ever bought a pair of our shoes or supported Fallen in any way over the past 13 years. The Fallen mission and goal has always been to work with skateshops and support skateboarding with everything we do. Unfortunately, this has become increasingly more difficult for skate shoe brands. Rather than waver from this mission, we are choosing to bow out. I encourage everyone to support authentic skate footwear brands as we wish them all the absolute best.
Skate or Die,
Best of luck to Jamie Thomas and the whole Fallen team.
