Magik X Pepaya Records
/ 15 September 2017

Magik teamed up with Pepaya Records on the introduction of its first product on Everpress.

After the success of running several emerging Jakarta-based brands, this group of brands’ creative heads decided to create Magik; a fresh platform to accomodate their strange desire of amplifying life changing experiences into something positive. This initiative aims to mix “outsider” music, art, and culture.

Having a mutual interest with an obscure Jakarta-based record label named Pepaya Records, they teamed up to
present a collaborative product called “A Journey to The Magik Sounds” to celebrate the love of rare music and dusty
groove. This collaboration has been chosen to be the first product that will be launched by Everpress and available
worldwide for the first time.

The main idea of this collaboration between Magik and Pepaya Records is to conduct a simulation by creating a new reality in order to criticize today’s internet trends that can influence our perception of reality significantly. Both entities agree to be freely inspired by the myth of a fake record label made by themselves named Pepayote Records.

They also made a mixtape related with the concept their first product, made by Sawi Lieu (an avant garde musician who is also part of Pepaya Records), for your listening pleasure. Click here to listen.
