This year’s E3 brought some amazing improvements in the gaming world out into the headlines along with some bad news, mainly for Microsoft’s Xbox One S. But, among the games that did grab our attention, one game stood out the most and that is Hideo Kojima’s new game, Death Stranding.
Remember that weird lucid dream you had when you were just a teen, well the trailer for this game is kinda like that. You wake up dazed and confused but you still feel like you had the best time of your life. Death Stranding is Hideo Kojima’s first game after leaving Konami. The trailer shows The Walking Dead’s cult favorite character Norman Reedus who played Darryl in the zombie apocalypse AMC TV series.
Although the trailer shows a pretty docile game, Kojima said in a recent interview that Death Stranding will be an action game a lot like Metal Gear Solid and not a Silent Hills substitute. “A strand in psychology is often used to refer to ties or chains,” he explained, alluding to Death Stranding’s obtuse title. “So how all the crabs –in the trailer– have this weird umbilical chord and how the baby is tied to Norman –Reedus’ character– is a representation of this.
Fans all around the world have been busy interpreting the meaning behind this game’s obscure trailer to no avail. For now, rather than fussing about what this game is all about, enjoy the 3-minute trailer while we wait for further news.
