Google Home, The Smart Assistant
/ 19 October 2016

When you look at the picture, some of you may think it is an air humidifier. Nah, it is not. This is the smart device that we mentioned on the title, that is expected to release concurrently with the Google Pixel smartphone.

Dubbed as “Google Home”, this small device is a voice-activated speaker by Google. The design is simple and minimal – top surface that responds to touch, a mute button to let you put its microphone on standby, a speaker that delivers crystal-clear sounds, and a speaker component on its bottom half. To suit your space and decor, the speaker component comes in 7 colors that can be changed with an easy twist and pull.

With the “OK Google” command, you can play music from a digital music service or set alerts for upcoming appointments. You can also get real-time answers including the latest on weather, traffic, sports, and more.
The device is able to perform such feats because it is powered by Google Assistant a.k.a Google’s own Siri.

When you want to get personal, it can act as a command centre. Connect this smart assistant to other digital gadgets and systems around your home, therefore it can set the perfect temperature and turn on/off other devices and/or lights.

Google Home retails for $130 starting November 4th, 2016. Sadly,there’s no news as yet on its availability beyond the US.
