Gionee M2017 Smartphone
/ 28 December 2016

Chinese smartphones might be a long way away from being called luxury phones but that’s going to change with the release of the Gionee M2017 smartphone. This phone might be giving the staple luxury phone brand, Vertu, a run for its money with features such as a 5.7-inch M2017 manages to couple the processor with the likes of 6GB of RAM, 128GB of onboard storage, 12- and 13-megapixel rear cameras with 2x optical zoom, an 8-megapixel selfie camera, and a fingerprint reader — not to mention a decidedly luxurious exterior build of leather and metal.

Although the Gionee M2017 only boasts a not-too-impressive Snapdragon 653, the insane 7000 mAh battery makes up for it. That powerful battery will provide users with multiple days of regular use and can even play videos continuously for about 26 hours.

The M2017 is scheduled to launch in China on January 6, 2017 for about $1,000 USD.
