The Ball brothers, Lonzo, LaMello and LiAngelo, have been making news in the basketball sport industry although, unfortunately, not all for the right reasons. As we all know, LaVar Ball, the father of the three brothers, made a comment in which he stated that in his prime, he can take Michael Jordan one-on-one, earlier this year. This time, the family’s business came out with another headscratcher in the form of Big Baller Brand’s ZO2.
Big Baller Brand’s ZO2 is a player edition or PE shoe for the ball brother’s Lonzo Ball which is making quite the buzz around the basketball scene, especially with the NBA Draft coming up. Its eye popping price tag of $ 495 USD is a sure fire way for it to get noticed quickly especially coming from a new brand name.
With looks reminiscent of the Kobe XI, its low cut shape is a popular shape among basketball players nowadays. Silhouettes like the Kobe series, the brand new PG-1 shoe and the 2017 Zoom Live, all bears similar shape as the ZO2. After the big three — Nike, adidas and Under Amour — all turned down father LaVar Ball’s request for a BBB licensing deal, rather than the industry standard contract, what can we expect from such an expensive sneaker?
Well, aside from looking eerily similar to Kobe’s signature line — an Ortholight© insole, python microfiber texture, patent leather heel logos, and a gel outsole with a hand-painted “DeLorean finish.” Oh, and there are no refunds or exchanges, but if you pre-order now, you’ll get them before Christmas (shipping by November 24, 2017). But wait! There’s more! You can also purchase ZO2 Slides for $220 USD. Yep. That’s correct. They’re selling a pair of sandals for 220 bucks!
Tell us what you think if whether this signature shoe is a W or does it take an L.
