Bad Brains’ HR Gets His Own Biography Film
, / 3 November 2016

No band in the world merges Punk, Hardcore, Reggae and Funk with more Soul than Bad Brains and one of the mastermind behind the masterpieces is Paul D. Hudson or better known as HR. HR, a devout Rastafarian, has been known as not only the vocalist of Bad Brains but also as the frontman to his solo projects.

After decades of blasting our eardrums with musics that span across multiple genres and generations, HR is getting his own biography film. This is very good news considering that Bad Brains is one of the nominee for the 2017 inclusion for The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside Tupac Shakur, Janet Jackson, Pearl Jam and many more.

The biography will be titled Finding Joseph I: An Oral History of H.R. from Bad Brains and it will be based on exclusive interviews from H.R. himself, other members of Bad Brains, fellow punk icon Ian MacKaye, musicians from The Roots and Deftones, Guns N’ Roses’s Duff McKagan, and others. A visual documentary titled Finding Joseph I will accompany the biography which will be released on January 17th, 2017 via Lesser Gods.

For more on the biography’s companion piece, check out its official Kickstarter.
