MILCAH – Into The Dip
One of SUB favorite label of all; MILCAH, just released their latest collection of colors and fluidity. Here's a sneak peek of Into The Dip.
POSTED : January 20, 2012

Into The Dip is inspired by the feeling when you dip your feet in the water, to feel part of you on the surface, and part of you in the water. Serene, yet refreshing. Translating this feeling into a dynamic yet feminine collection – using a gradation of soothing colors like light Tosca and beige, the monotones, and also the bright coral orange. Wearing colors don’t have to be in a vivid and extreme way. Even in the shiest hue, it can also look bold. The message is a hint of color in just one clothing item can instantly refresh your whole look.

Using handmade tie dye technique in some parts of the fabric, MILCAH create a modern aquatic feel. You will find lots of handmade touch in their collection, which makes every piece more delicate and exclusive than any other MILCAH’s previous products.

Light flowing fabrics like rayon, chiffon, cotton and voile are chosen to comfort one’s skin. From bikinis, crop tops, pantaloons to maxi dresses. Giving women the satisfaction of dressing, each product can be interestingly layered or worn simply with your favorite items in your wardrobe. The collection is packed with flare silhouette for flattering effect and loose volume for better movement. Shorter hemline in the front and longer in the back are created to replicate a fin-like shape. What’s unique is that they also combine some sporty elements like raglan cuttings and some geometric cuts into this flowing silhouette.

Bringing the fish tank to the real life, MILCAH accessories designer Ike Riani Hartono adapt the transparency by working with acrylic material, and also fabric as her long time specialty. She’s back with her origami signature, creating seashell shaped – origami earrings, and starfishes necklace. This time you will get to see a set of clutch bags made of transparent acrylic (time of truth, we do can see what you are going to be bringing in your bag). One of our favorite is the seashell shaped clutch bag with handmade color drip on it.

Jana Decanandra and Eda Arthaputri are the girls behind MILCAH shoe line, they designed everything from yellow laced up sandals, to Tosca wooden clogs. These comfy pieces are using variable fabrics like canvas, suede and semi-leather. Not as subtle looking as the clothes, but you will find them extremely admirable. Besides, what can a mermaid want more than to be able to walk in these pairs?

This collection will be available exclusively at The Goods Dept on 20th of January 2012.
